Skin Rejuvenation

“Skin rejuvenation” refers to any treatment, medication, or procedure designed to improve skin appearance. At Modern Vitality Medicine, we provide a complete range of skin rejuvenation choices. Our clinic customizes a treatment plan for each patient based on their aesthetic concerns and objectives.

Chemical Peels

Chemical peels are a skin rejuvenation technique that involves the application of a special solution, leading to the removal of the top layer of skin. This reveals the fresh and smoother skin underneath. Chemical peels are an effective solution for treating fine lines, sun damage, hyperpigmentation, and scars. After healing from a chemical peel treatment, patients often notice that their skin looks brighter and smoother.

Wrinkle Relaxers

Botulinum toxin, commonly known as “botox,” is an injectable cosmetic treatment for moderate to severe wrinkles. Dermatologists use it to reduce the appearance of crow’s feet and frown lines. The results can last for up to four months.

Dermal Fillers

A dermal filler is a type of injectable treatment that works differently than Botox. Fillers contain synthetic versions of substances found in the body, such as hyaluronic acid and collagen. When injected into depressed areas, dermal fillers plump up the skin, temporarily reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Dermal fillers are also used to help improve the appearance of cheeks, lips, and nasolabial folds.

Kybella is an FDA-approved treatment that involves injecting a solution into the submental fat, which is the fat underneath the chin, commonly known as a double chin. This treatment specifically targets the fat cells in the area and destroys them, resulting in a more defined profile. Kybella is a safe and effective way to minimize the appearance of a double chin.

Spider Veins

Spider veins refer to the tiny blood vessels situated near the skin’s surface that become visible. They may appear in clusters and are usually a cosmetic concern for many people. In-office treatments such as sclerotherapy can be used to treat spider veins.

Sclerotherapy is a minimally-invasive procedure used to treat spider veins and varicose veins, sclerosing is a treatment for these veins. A dermatologist injects a special solution into the problematic vein, which causes the treated vein to collapse and fade from view over time.

Brown Spots

Brown spots, which are also known as age or liver spots, are a common skin condition that often affects older adults. However, they can also appear on younger people who have a history of unprotected sun exposure. Although brown spots are generally not harmful, they can be unappealing in terms of appearance. There are various treatment options available for brown spots, including chemical peels, microdermabrasion, cryosurgery, and electrodessication.

As you age, wrinkles are inevitable. Smoking and failing to protect yourself from UV rays can lead to wrinkles at a younger age. Popular treatment options include Botox and dermal fillers.

Acne Scarring

Acne scars may develop after a severe acne breakout, especially for those who suffer from inflammatory acne like cysts and nodules. To avoid the formation of acne scars, it is recommended to seek professional acne extraction from your dermatologist. Your dermatologist can recommend a treatment to reduce the appearance of acne scars if you already have them.

Cosmetic Treatments

Typically, a Botox treatment requires only 10-20 minutes in an examination room and ends with absolutely minimal or no discomfort. Usually, you can return to work immediately, while we recommend that you stay away from getting into strenuous activity until the next day.

First results usually appear 5 to 7 days after injection, and typically last from 90 to 120 days. Because these results don’t last forever, repeated injections are needed to preserve the achieved effects.

The most common Botox treatment areas are:

  • 11 lines or glabella,
  • forehead lines
  • “crow’s feet”(lines around the eyes)

However, Botox is a versatile drug and at Modern Vitality Medicine it can be used for:

  • Jaw reduction – gives one a softer and more visually pleasing appearance

  • TMD disorder (or Bruxism) – this aching ailment causes irritation in the jaw area and often lead to teeth grinding and pain in the jaw area. We can help this by using Botox to relax the jaw (masseter) muscles and dramatically reduce the effect of this disorder.

  • Excessive sweating, or hyperhidrosis – Botox is effectively used for excessive sweating by blocking the release of acetylcholine, thus causing sweat glands to stop producing sweat. Around 20-25 minor injections to the underarm area effectively reduces sweating by up to 90% within 2 days period, lasting up to 10 month, or even longer.
